Presuppositions of NLP

Here are some of the basic communication presuppositions of the field of NLP.  They are not necessarily “TRUE”.  However, if you act as if they are “true”, you will achieve much better results when you communicate.

“There are no mistakes, only results.”

“There is no failure, only feedback.”

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.”

“The meaning of the communication is the response you get – which may be different than what you expected.”

“Power is the ability to produce intended results.”

“There is a positive intention beneath every behavior.”

“If what you’re doing isn’t working, do something else.”
